Sterlite Q2 consolidated net at Rs 165.23 crore

Sterlite Industries (India) has reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 165.23 crore (Rs 1.65 billion) for the second quarter ended September 30, 2003.

The consolidated net sales for the reporting quarter stood at Rs 1,375.17 crore (Rs 13.75 billion), the company said in a release in Mumbai on Friday.

The consolidated net profit for the six months ended September stood at Rs 291.66 crore (Rs 2.92 billion) while the net sales for the period was Rs 2568.10 crore (Rs 25.68 billion).

The standalone net profit of Sterlite Industries (India) Ltd was Rs 42.4 crore (Rs 424 million) during September 2003 as against Rs 41.4 crore (Rs 414 million) in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

Standalone net sales of the company rose to Rs 769.6 crore (Rs 7.69 billion) during the second quarter of September as against Rs 530.62 crore (Rs 5.30 billion).
