American pop sensation Ariana Grande has overtaken Selena Gomez as the most-followed woman on Instagram.
American singer Gomez, 26 previously held the title with 1,46,267,801 followers but on Tuesday, Grande managed to eclipse her fellow pop star with 1,46,286,173 followers The Hollywood Reporter revealed.
While Gomez and Grande may be frontrunners in the social media race among women, soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo continues to be the most-followed person on Instagram.
The footballer surpassed the title from Gomez in October 2018 and has held it since.
What's interesting is Grande, who was among the top 10 most followed celebrities on Instagram, gained more than 13 million new Instagram followers in just four months.
Grande's popularity on social media comes close on heels of her record-breaking success with the track 'Thank U, Next,' which is spending a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
