Meet the real-life Malti -- whose character Deepika Padukone essays in Chhapak.

The New Delhi based acid attack survivor has been inspiring many with her courageous story.

In an interview, Laxmi proudly revealed that people are now waking up to the fact that 'looks' are not that important.

'There was a time when people did not want to see our ugly faces. Now they want selfies with us. They are willing to become our friends and also marry us.

'What else do we want from society other than their willingness to listen to us and our story,' she said.

She received the Women Courage Award in 2014 and has often questioned the beauty standards set by society.

Scroll down to take a look at the many times she won us with her fashion, confidence and THAT smile.
