Strawberry Honey Dessert: 5-Min Recipe

Chef Zubin D'Souza offers a simple, spicy way to serve luscious strawberries, which are just coming into season. He calls it Beriyon K Thal!

Ingredients

  • 300 gm fresh, ripe strawberries
  • 2 limes

  • 30 ml honey
  • Pinch black peppercorns, lightly crushed

Method

  • Wash the strawberries thoroughly.
  • Gently pat dry.

  • Slice the strawberries very thinly, lengthwise.
  • Arrange the slices flat on a plate in a circular pattern, allowing only the edges to overlap.

  • Cut the limes in half and remove the seeds.
  • Squeeze the lime juice evenly over the sliced strawberries.

  • Drizzle the honey on top and lightly sprinkle the freshly-crushed black pepper.
  • Refrigerate and serve chilled.

Tips
Be careful to choose the most attractive large ripe strawberries for the best flavour and natural sweetness.
Slice evenly so the pattern is neat and party-worthy.
