England [Images] and South Africa were involved in a practice mix-up in New Delhi on Monday ahead of the ICC [Images] Champions Trophy after both the teams arrived at the same nets.

"We had practice side by side and shared the nets," England media manager James Avery said.

"Both teams appeared to have been told [to go to the same nets], but it was sorted out. There were no issues."

The sports complex in the Indian capital had six nets, but three were concrete with both teams were keen to use the natural pitch, said South Africa team spokesman Gordon Templeton.

"I was given to understand England arrived after South Africa started practice," he said.

South African coach Mickey Arthur and his counterpart Duncan Fletcher had a discussion to sort the matter out, he said.

"My team manager said a compromise was reached and everything was resolved."

England, the 2004 Trophy finalists who are also preparing for the Ashes tour starting next month, begin their campaign in pool A against hosts India in Jaipur on Sunday.

South Africa, winners of the inaugural edition in 1998, play their opening pool B game against New Zealand [Images] in Mumbai next Monday.
