Sachin Tendulkar [Images] has opted out of next month's ICC [Images] Super Series between Australia and the Rest of the World XI and is likely to be replaced by Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq [Images].

Tendulkar has not fully recovered from an elbow injury.

"He will not be playing in the Super Series because he has not fully recovered. He has told us and we have informed the ICC [International Cricket Council]," BCCI joint secretary Goutam Das Gupta said on Wednesday.

Inzamam, who has played 101 Tests and 347 one-day internationals, confirmed his availability to replace Tendulkar on Wednesday.

"I have just been told by the board to give my confirmation for the Super Series," Inzamam said. "I am available to play because it is a big honour to play alongside the world's best."

Tendulkar has not played competitive cricket since undergoing corrective surgery in May on his left elbow.
