Sensex sheds 32 points at close

The Sensex ended 32 points lower at 5,641. The Nifty was down nine points at 1,781.

Satyam slipped 2.2% (Rs 9) to Rs 371. Wipro was down a per cent (Rs 6) at Rs 641. Infosys, however, finished a per cent (Rs 19) higher at Rs 1,778.

Reliance declined 1.7% (Rs 10) to Rs 539. ITC was down Rs 8 to Rs 1,083. However, HLL closed unchanged at Rs 125.

ONGC was down Rs 5 at Rs 799, and HPCL slipped Rs 2 to Rs 323.

HDFC Bank shed 1.7% (Rs 7) to Rs 404. While SBI was up Rs 3 at Rs 462, ICICI Bank closed flat at Rs 291.

HDFC rallied 2% (Rs 13) to Rs 666.

Hindalco and Tisco finished with marginall losses at Rs 1,228 and Rs 284,

respectively.

Larsen & Toubro slumped 2.3% (Rs 19) to Rs 820.

Ranbaxy dropped 1.9% (Rs 21) to Rs 1,070. Cipla and Dr.Reddy's ended almost flat at Rs 275 and Rs 749, respectively.

Bajaj Auto skidded 2.9% (Rs 28) to Rs 954. Tata Motors was down Rs 2 at Rs 410, and Maruti lost a rupee at Rs 358. Hero Honda, however, gained a rupee at Rs 421.

While Tata Power was up Rs 2 at Rs 314, Reliance Energy was down Rs 2 at Rs 637.

Zee plunged 4% (Rs 6.50) to Rs 154.
