"Reliance Capital has not had any discussions with ICICI Bank for picking up ICICI Bank's stake in Federal Bank nor any proposal has been made in this regard," Reliance Capital said in a communique to the Stock Exchanges.

This was in reference to a news item, which appeared in a leading daily on Monday.
The company further said the news item was factually incorrect and speculative in nature.
