Geetha Johri and three other police officers who figure as accused in the 2006 Tulsi Prajapati fake encounter case on Friday moved the Gujarat high court, challenging the Danta court's jurisdiction to accept the charge-sheet. Of the 20 accused named in the Central Bureau of Investigation's charge-sheet, Johri, R K Patel, Rajkumar Pandian and P C Pande have filed the petition in the high court. It may come up for hearing before Justice R H Shukla on September 24.
Eight police officials accused in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case, including D G Vanzara, have objected to another accused police officer N K Amin turning approver in the case. The eight accused in the case, including three suspended Indian Police Service officers -- Vanzara, Dinesh M N and Rajkumar Pandian -- have informed the court through their lawyer Prayesh Limbachia that they have objections to Amin's application to turn approver.

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday filed a status report on the progress of the probe in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case in which former Gujarat minister and Narendra Modi's close aide Amit Shah has been arrested.Apex court sources said that CBI officials had submitted the report in a sealed cover to the Registry.The other main accused in the case are suspended Deputy Inspector General D G Vanzara and Rajkumar Pandian, both Gujarat cadre IPS officers.
The Gujarat CID, the agency probing the case, also filed an application seeking the court's nod to conduct narco-analysis tests on the officers.
Metropolition judge K J Upadhyay rejected the CID application.

The CID has so far arrested six policemen in the fake encounter case, including the three IPS officers D G Vanzara, Rajkumar Pandian and Dinesh M N. The three IPS officials were arrested on April 24.
The chief investigating officer told the court that he had not found any material evidence to show who the political beneficiaries were.
