In a strategic move for the upcoming West Bengal elections, the BJP has announced its first candidate list, highlighted by Suvendu Adhikari challenging Mamata Banerjee in both Nandigram and Bhabanipur.
The verdict came after National Investigation Agency special judge Jagdeep Singh dismissed the plea filed by a Pakistani woman for examining eyewitnesses from her country, saying it was "devoid of any merit".
A Hyderabad court remanded Swami Asimanand, an accused in the 2007 Mecca Masjid blast case, in eight-day Central Bureau of Investigation custody till December 18.

The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday said there was no proof against Lt Col Prasad Purohit in the Samjhauta blast case.
"If Hindus had been terrorists, then no other terrorists have existed."
Special NIA court judge Jagdeep Singh posted the matter for March 14 after a Pakistani woman filed a petition claiming she had some evidence relevant to the case.
However, the certified copy of the said order was issued by the court only on May 1, 2015.
