Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi has undergone angioplasty at a hospital in Kolkata where his condition is now stated to be stable.
The 72-year-old, also an eminent Congress leader, passed away today after being in coma since 2008, when he had suffered a stroke.
"His medical condition is the same. He continues to remain critical and on life support," said Dr Vineet Suri, consultant, neurology, Indraprastha Apollo hospital.
The condition of Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi remained stable on the fifth day today after being admitted to the AIIMS following a severe heart attack.

On October 20, he was shifted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital for further neurological treatment.
"His medical condition continues to remain critical and he is still on life support. There is no change in his condition," said Vineet Suri, consultant, neurology, Indraprastha Apollo hospital.

"He has still not regained consciousness and these improvements do not guarantee that he is completely out of danger. His vitals are stable, his BP, heart-rate and urine output are normal.
