Indian women spikers crash out of Asian Games

Indian women spikers suffered their third successive defeat in the Asian Games, going down 0-3 to Chinese Taipei in their last preliminary Group B match at the Guangwai Gymnasium in Guangzhou on Monday.

The Indian eves lost 36-75 (12-25, 12-25, 12-25) to the Taiwanese team in one hour and four minutes to draw curtains on their campaign.

Soumya Vengadan was the best scorer for India [ Images ] with six points, while Chen Wan-Ting was the highest scorer for Chinese Taipei with 15 points to her name.

India won only one match in their preliminary round, winning against Maldives [ Images ] on Friday. They lost against North Korea, Japan [ Images ] and Kazakhstan.

The men's team also crashed out of the Asian Games on Sunday.
