Close on the heels of the Congress roping in ace director Priyadarshan to make its ad campaigns, the Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to kick off its own television campaign, featuring three ad jingles sung by popular singer Shaan .

The campaigns have been woven around the themes of 'Congress' misrule, BJP is the solution' 'better tomorrow' and 'Team Advani'. The jingles sing paeans of Advani as a strong leader, saying nidar neta chunenge hum, faislon me ho jiske dam (we will elect a determined leader who is capable of taking decisions).

The BJP has already launched its campaigns via hoardings and radio stations.

Speaking on the controversy surrounding the alleged inflammatory speeches made by BJP candidate from Pilibhit Varun Gandhi, senior leader S S Ahluwalia told media persons in New Delhi on Monday that if the charges were true, the government and the Election Commission should have banned the CD containing the speeches. No such ban has been imposed and this proves that the CD didn't contain anything that could instigate communal violence, claimed Ahluwalia.

The Election Commission has erred in declaring that Varun's alleged speech has violated the code of conduct, he claimed. The EC should have waited for the results of the forensic test, he said.

Citing the example of English movies being dubbed in Hindi, Malayalam and other regional languages, Ahluwalia pointed out that Varun had repeatedly stressed that the CD has been doctored and those were not the words spoken by him.
