The Vishwa Hindu Parishad is planning to put up "Welcome to Hindu Rashtra" boards in prominent places all over the country and organise gatherings everywhere as a part of its campaign to make India a Hindu State, VHP leaders said in Pune.

The Bajrang Dal will also put up saffron flags in every house, shop, and business establishment, Surendra Jain, executive committee member of the Bajrang Dal and Prakash Sharma, the organisation's national convenor said on Thursday.

The VHP has also appealed for the enactment of laws that will 'enable Hindus to take possession of the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi site'.

Briefing reporters about the VHP meeting, underway in the city, they castigated the earlier 'secular' Congress governments

for appeasing minorities.

"Till now it was the minority community which was taking advantage of the laws passed in Parliament. This includes the Shah Bano case, the Aligarh Muslim University issue, and the special privileges during Haj," they said.

Accusing the Congress of supporting jehadis, Jain said, "Secularism cannot stop terrorism." He also compared the Congress president Sonia Gandhi to Jinnah for "appeasing the minorities".

The leaders said that three lakh youths will be given trishuls and asked to take a pledge to devote their lives to protecting the Hindu culture.
