Police have received specific intelligence inputs about a terror attack on one of the oldest clubs near Hotel Taj here following which security has been beefed up, police said on Thursday.

The reports have warned of a possible fidayeen attack on Bombay Presidency Radio Club which has a pier surrounded by sea on three sides.

Radio Club is easily approachable by sea and a 26/11-type attack can be possible. An alert was issued, asking the club to step up security and screen people and members visiting its premises, they said.

This is the 574th alert issued by intelligence agencies this year, the police said, adding local police station in Colaba has been informed to keep a strict vigil in and around the club.
