Four persons, owing allegiance to the Chotta Rajan gang, have been arrested in connection with the murder of Sharad Shetty - a close associate of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

The arrested were identified as Karan Singh Narsingh Rajit, Manoj Muddanna, Amar Bahadur Bam and Sumit Vazhakkulath Ponnappan, a senior official of the Dubai police said.

The quartet were nabbed on Friday by a police task force shortly before they were to flee the country by
sea.

All, except Bam, are apparently of Indian origin but were said to be holding passports from Nepal or Liberia.

Three of the arrested had entered UAE on visit visas and were given membership of the exclusive India Club, police
said.
