EZayed Khanven before the release of his first film, Chura Liya Hai Tumne, newcomer Zayed Khan is making waves. He has already signed on Farah Khan's directorial debut, where he will star with Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen.

Recently, he also signed Telugu filmmaker A Poornachandra Rao's Idiot.

Celina Jaitley, who is making her debut in (Zayed's uncle) Feroz Khan's Jaanasheen, co-stars in Idiot.

Hrithik woos the Spanish

Following the sucHrithik Roshancess of Rakesh Roshan's Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai in Hindi, the film will now be dubbed in Spanish and released in over a dozen Latin American countries.

The Spanish version is two hours long. The popular number, Ek pal ka jeena, will also be translated into Spanish.

Lata takes leave of absence

Citing a minor accident and viral fever, singer and Rajya Sabha member Lata Mangeshkar excused herself from attending the rest of the Budget session. The permission was granted, but not before another memLata Mangeshkarber, Shabana Azmi, opposed the approval. Shabana felt Lata was never seen in the House.

Earlier, Lata had created a record when the Rajya Sabha granted her permission to remain absent from the House. This happened even before she had taken oath as a member after being nominated to the Upper House.

Abhishek starrer to premiere at IFFA

Producer Pahlaj Nihalani's son Vicky's maiden production, Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Lara Dutta will premiere at the fourth IFFA Awards function in London. The function will span May 15, 16 and 17.Abhishek Bachchan

The film marks Apoorva Lakhiya's debut as director. Lakhiya had assisted Ashutosh Gowarikar during the making of Lagaan.

The movie is rumoured to spoof present-day rural India.

Lagaan and Aankhen premiered at the IFFA festival in South Africa and Malaysia respectively.

Mithun gets lucky

Mithun Chakraborty recently signed G S Entertainment's Lucky, starring Salman Khan. The latest buzz says he has also signed Vikram Bhatt's Imaan, where he will co-star with John Abraham, Arjun Rampal and Amisha Patel
