# Harbhajan Singh (69) recorded his best innings in Tests, bettering the 66 against Zimbabwe in June 2001.

# Harbhajan has now scored eight fifties in Tests - second against New Zealand. His previous highest against New Zealand was 60 off 78 balls at Wellington in April 2009.

# India (487) posted their third best total against New Zealand at Motera - their highest two totals are 583 for seven wickets declared in 1999-00 and 500 for five wickets declared in 2003-04.

# Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha were associated in a ninth wicket stand of 66 - India's second highest at Motera - the highest is 67 between Mohammad Azharuddin and Rajesh Chauhan against Sri Lanka in February 1994.

# The Harbhajan-Ojha stand is India's second highest for the ninth wicket against New Zealand in India - the highest is 105 between Syed Kirmani and Bishan Singh Bedi at Mumbai in 1976-77.

# Tim McIntosh's fourth duck in Test cricket is his second against India.

# Daniel Vettori (100 wickets in 38 Tests at 32.74 runs apiece), with Harbhajan Singh's wicket, became the first New Zealand bowler to take 100 wickets or more as captain in Tests.

# Vettori is now the eighth bowler to take 100 wickets or more as captain.  He has joined Imran Khan (187), Richie Benaud (138), Garry Sobers (117), Kapil Dev (111), Wasim Akram (107), Bishan Singh Bedi (106) and Shaun Pollock (103).

# Sachin Tendulkar has established a record for most runs against New Zealand - 1446 in 20 Tests at an average of 51.64, surpassing Rahul Dravid's runs' tally of 1422 (ave.61.82), including five hundreds and six fifties, in 13 Tests.

# Tendulkar has extended his run-aggregate this year to 1310 at an average of 93.57, including six hundreds and four fifties, in 10 Tests.

# Suresh Raina's wicket was Kane Williamson's first in Test Cricket.

# VVS Laxman is averaging 87.57 in 2010 - 613 in eleven innings (seven Tests), including two centuries and four fifties - his best in a calendar year.

# Laxman has completed his 1,000 runs under Dhoni's captaincy during his knock of 40 - 1003 (ave.50.15) in 24 innings (16 Tests), including two centuries and nine fifties.
