Housing finance lender HDFC Ltd on Wednesday reported a 9.6 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 2,646.35 crore (Rs 26.46 billion) for the quarter ended March 31.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 2,414.70 crore (Rs 24.14 billion) in the January-March quarter of the previous fiscal, HDFC Ltd said in a statement.
The total income on consolidated basis rose to Rs 14,726.18 crore (Rs 147.26 billion) for the quarter ended March 31, 2015 from Rs 12,266.47 crore (Rs 122.66 billion) in the corresponding period a year ago.
On standalone basis, the housing finance company's net profit rose by 8.06 per cent to Rs 1,862.43 crore (Rs 18.62 billion) as compared to Rs 1,723.10 crore (Rs 17.23 billion) for the fourth quarter ended March, 2014.
The board has proposed a final dividend of Rs 13 per equity share of face value of Rs 2 each for the financial year 2014-15.
The total dividend for the year (including the interim dividend of Rs 2 per equity share) is Rs 15 per equity share as against Rs 14 per equity share for the previous year.
For the entire fiscal ended March 31, 2015, the company's consolidated net profit increased 10.2 per cent to Rs 8,762.62 crore (Rs 87.62 billion) as against Rs 7,947.82 crore (Rs 79.47 billion) in the previous fiscal.
The total income on consolidated basis during the 2014-15 fiscal increased to Rs 48,315.69 crore (483.15 billion) from Rs 40,753.17 crore (Rs 407.53 billion) in the previous year.
On standalone basis, the net profit for the entire fiscal rose by 10.1 per cent to Rs 5,990.14 crore (Rs 59.9 billion) as compared to Rs 5,440.24 crore (Rs 54.4 billion) in 2013-14.
During the year, total income improved to Rs 27,470.86 crore (Rs 274.7 billion) from Rs 24,143.01 crore (Rs 241.43 billion) in 2013-14.
