The denizens of Kashmir division experienced bone chilling cold as the night temperature in most places including summer capital Srinagar slipped below the freezing point, compounding the problems of those affected by the recent floods.
A mob attacked a police post at Hatmulla in north Kashmir's Kupwara district this afternoon following which the security personnel retaliated.

Ignoring the separatists' call to shun the vote, electors in the five districts emulated the trend seen in the first phase by turning up at polling booths in large numbers at 8 am, the scheduled start of voting. It turned out to be an impressive 71.28 per cent turnout in the second phase.
