Police in Meerut have located a 17-year-old girl who was reported missing from the Kharkhauda area. Eight individuals have been detained in connection with her disappearance, according to authorities.
Tension gripped Meerut's Kharkhauda and Atrada areas as members of a particular communities attacked and pelted stone at the houses of members of another community on Sunday night, over the alleged gangrape and religious conversion of a 20-year-old woman.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with the alleged rape and forced religious conversion of a young woman in Meerut taking to five the total number of arrests in the incident even as the situation in the Uttar Pradesh district is tense but under control.
