Sachin Tendulkar's claims of Greg Chappell being a dictatorial coach seem to have opened a Pandora's box with his then teammate and senior off-spinner Harbhajan Singh saying that some players in the side provided "selective misinformation" to the Australian in a phase which "temporarily destroyed Indian cricket".
India's premier speedster Zaheer Khan revealed that Greg Chappell had told him back in 2005 that the fast bowler "would never play for India" till the time he would remain at the helm and termed the period under the Australian as the "darkest phase of Indian cricket".
India's new cricket coach said he would not hesitate to expand his support staff with experts from various fields.
Chappell would be arriving in Bangalore on Wednesday from Sydney to assume charge as coach.
Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming said that captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni would play a 'more prominent' role as a batsman in the upcoming Indian Premier League by batting 'relatively high' in the order.
'I'd like to thank the ACA for negotiating on behalf of the players and I'm excited that we can all start working together again to continue to grow our great game'
Do you agree with the new Indian coach that Sachin Tendulkar will never be his devastating self again?
India's cricket coach Greg Chappell doubts whether Sachin Tendulkar can return to the dizzy heights of the past, but he says he will do everything possible to get the little master back on track.
