Indian billionaire Shiv Nadar's foray into the insurance sector is likely to fructify soon. DLF Pramerica Life, seeking an Indian partner for its operation, is in talks with Nadar's HCL Group to sell a majority stake. According to those in the know, both parties are back on the table to iron out the nitty-gritty, after the deal got stuck a year back due to stringent guidelines.
Real estate giant DLF announced on Tuesday its tie-up with US-based financial player Prudential Financial, Inc for a foray in life insurance business and said the two partners will invest about Rs 10 billion over the next ten years in the venture.
He paid nearly Rs 34 crore for the stake.
The company's profit stood at Rs 292.79 crore (Rs 2.92 billion) in the year-ago period.
Deal with current owner Exide may be signed next week
