The incident took place at Juna Vadaj Circle on Tuesday afternoon when a mob of around 30 persons attacked four women travelling in an auto rickshaw, said inspector J A Rathva of Vadaj police station.
The situation in Gujarat, bearing the brunt of the agitation by Patel community seeking reservation under Other Backwards Class category, is gradually returning to normal, officials said.
Tension persisted on Friday in violence-hit Gujarat which has been rocked by the Patel quota reservation stir even as curfew was lifted from many cities and some parts of Ahmedabad and no major incident reported since on Thursday.
Hardik Patel, the 21-year-old politician who has been grabbing headlines as leader of the 40-day agitation by the Patel Community, addressed a massive rally in Ahmedabad on Tuesday where he demanded reservations under the Other Backward Caste quota for the community.
They alleged that the central bank has "failed miserably" in handling the situation post-demonetisation.
The protests were held after police detained Dalit leader and independent MLA Jignesh Mevani, and over 70 others, in Saraspur area of Ahmedabad on Sunday morning when they tried to stage demonstrations over Vanakar's death.
Army was called in on Wednesday to help control widespread violence sparked by quota agitation by Patel community in Gujarat which has claimed seven lives even as curfew was clamped in several areas.
