This will be first foray into electoral politics for Hussain, who officially joined the PDP on January 7.
The repoll will be held on April 13.
Tasaduq, a famed cinematographer, joined the party in the presence of his sister and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti who was there along with her cabinet and party colleagues. In his brief speech at the function, Tasaduq thanked the party workers for their love and affection towards PDP.

Tassaduq Hussain has always been reluctant to jump into full-time politics.
'And the old war horse has left nothing to chance. He campaigned vigorously in the by-election defying his age,' says Mohammad Sayeed Malik, the distinguished commentator on Kashmir.
She indicated that she was not looking for any financial package but the confidence building measures sought by her should focus on political aspect of the problem.
