Doctors treating Indian death row convict Sarbajit Singh, comatose in a Lahore hospital after a brutal assault last week, on Tuesday said his condition had deteriorated.
Tamba was attacked by motorcycle-borne assailants at his residence in Sanant Nagar, a thickly populated area of old Lahore in the afternoon.
A Pakistani court has issued notice to the federal government seeking its response within three weeks to a writ petition against the possible grant of a presidential pardon to Indian national Sarbajit Singh, currently on death row.

Just keeping our fingers crossed, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Tuesday said about Sarbajit Singh, who is battling for life in a Lahore hospital after a brutal assault last week in a Pakistani jail.
"We are trying our best to get his body as soon as possible. The Ministry of External Affairs is in touch with the Pakistan government," he told reporters after meeting Sarbajit's sister Dalbir Kaur and other family members in New Delhi.
