Future Retail Ltd (FRL) on Wednesday said it is "committed" to reversal of takeover of its stores by Reliance Retail and will take all such action as may be necessary to seek value adjustments. The Kishore Biyani-led firm also said the action of the Reliance Group has come as a "surprise" to it. Moreover, the action of taking possession of its stores has "complicated" the positive scenario which had started building up after a CCI order in December 2021, FRL said in a regulatory filing.

The proposed reorganisation plan by Reliance Industries Ltd to transfer its refining, marketing and petrochemical (oil-to-chemicals) businesses to a wholly-owned subsidiary is a step towards facilitating participation by strategic investors in the unit, Fitch Ratings said on Tuesday. The reorganisation of the business in Reliance O2C Limited (O2C) "will have a neutral impact on RIL's credit metrics and rating," it said in a statement. The transfer will be on a "slump sale basis", subject to attaining the requisite approvals.

EGF, managed by the Capital Group, bought 16.13 million shares, or a 1.02 per cent stake, in RIL from the open market in the March-ended quarter. When share prices were down in the fourth quarter, Life Insurance Corporation added 2.4 million shares of RIL to its kitty, taking its stake to 5.52 per cent. The purchase would have cost LIC over Rs 250 crore. LIC had also bought over six million shares of RIL in the third quarter, at an investment of around Rs 800 crore.
