Five policemen were killed and 20 others were injured on Wednesday in a suicide attack outside a police station in a busy area in Lahore that was crowded with people celebrating on the eve of the country's independence day. The suicide bomber blew himself up outside a police station near Moon Market, one of the largest bazars in the posh Allama Iqbal Town locality, officials said.

Gangster Aziz Reddy alias Baba Reddy was shot dead by the Hyderabad police in the posh Jubilee hills area of the city on Wednesday night. As the policemen closed in on the gang, Reddy and his associates tried to flee. The police asked them to surrender, but Reddy started firing at the police.
