Fourty-four people, 41 of them school children from classes 9 and 10, are feared killed as the Gujarat State Transport bus they were travelling in fell into the main Naramada canal near Vadodara on Wednesday morning. The bus, carrying 61 passengers, fell into the canal in Bodeli area after the driver lost control. Four passengers have been rescued after the mishap. The school children were on their way to school for their examinations when the accident occurred.

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd, a telecom and IT wing under the ministry, has selected the four railway stations for providing wi-fi connectivity. Within the next couple of weeks, passengers will be able to use their laptops at these stations, said senior officials of RailTel. The move is aimed at providing high-speed internet connectivity at railways stations. RailTel also plans to install wi-max facility to provide connectivity to remote railway stations at a later stage.
