The incident took place at Juna Vadaj Circle on Tuesday afternoon when a mob of around 30 persons attacked four women travelling in an auto rickshaw, said inspector J A Rathva of Vadaj police station.
The situation in Gujarat, bearing the brunt of the agitation by Patel community seeking reservation under Other Backwards Class category, is gradually returning to normal, officials said.
Tension persisted on Friday in violence-hit Gujarat which has been rocked by the Patel quota reservation stir even as curfew was lifted from many cities and some parts of Ahmedabad and no major incident reported since on Thursday.
They alleged that the central bank has "failed miserably" in handling the situation post-demonetisation.
Hardik Patel, the 21-year-old politician who has been grabbing headlines as leader of the 40-day agitation by the Patel Community, addressed a massive rally in Ahmedabad on Tuesday where he demanded reservations under the Other Backward Caste quota for the community.
