The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption officials on Tuesday conducted raids on the premises of former Intelligence chief MS Jaffer Sait and other officials in connection with the Tamil Nadu Housing Board land allotment case.
In his plea, Umapathy, secretary of Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam, alleged that Rajinikanth had made false and fraudulent statements insulting the Dravidian stalwart and followers of Periyar while speaking at the golden jubilee celebrations of Tamil magazine 'Thuglak' here recently. He contended that "Rajinikanth made false and fraudulent statements insulting Dravidian ideologists and the followers of Thanthai Periyar with an intention to provoke breach of public peace by promoting enmity and hatred among the people of Tamil Nadu in the name of religion."
Special Judge R Rajamanickam also acquitted former state industries secretary, C Ramachandran, and industrialist A C\n\nMuthiah who were charged in the case along with Jayalalithaa.
Kanchi Sankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi and eight others were on Friday acquitted of all charges, including attempt to murder, in the 2002 the auditor Radhakrishnan assault case.
The decision was taken on October 3.
