Indian paddlers Achanta Sharath Kamal and Neha Aggarwal have qualified for the Beijing Olympics' table tennis competition. Both made the grade via the men's and women's singles quota places from the South Asian region during the ongoing Olympic qualifying tournament for the Asian zone in Hong Kong, according to a Table Tennis Federation of India statement on Friday.

Young Neha Aggarwal's tryst with the Olympics lasted precisely 34 minutes. India's lone woman paddler in Beijing began with a bang but ran out of steam and crashed in the first round on Monday. The Delhi teen, playing an opponent almost twice her age, lost 12-10, 8-11, 11-13, 8-11 and 4-11 to Chinese-born Australian Jian Fang Lay in little more than half an hour.

Sounding that her feet was firmly on the ground, Neha, ranked 266th in the world, would not promise for a medal but said she would try her best to cause a few upsets.
