Memphis joined United in June for a reported 25 million pounds ($35 million) after finishing the previous campaign as the Dutch league's top scorer with 22 goals, but has struggled to settle in England. The 22-year-old, described by manager Louis van Gaal as having the "potential to become a great footballer", has scored six goals in all competitions for United and two in the Premier League all season.
