Tanzania's Alphonce Simbu won the men's elite full marathon event while Kenya's Bornes Kitur bagged the women's title at the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon in Mumbai, on Sunday.
The elite women runners of the Tata Mumbai Marathon slammed the event organisers, saying there were too many casual runners on the course and that the Metro construction work was also a hindrance.
Kenyan pacesetter Gideon Kipketer won the men's race in an all-East African clean sweep of the podium by setting a new course record in the 13th Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon on Sunday.
