One of the key witnesses in the 2002 hit-and-run case involving Bollywood actor Salman Khan has allegedly received "threat" calls asking him to accept Rs 5 lakh for "staying away" from the case, police said on Tuesday.
Salman's appeal is listed for admission on the board of Justice Abhay Thipsay, who had on Wednesday granted him an interim bail for two days.
A police officer, who had registered the first information report against actor Salman Khan in 2002 in the hit-and-run case, informed the trial court on Thursday that the actor was not found at the accident spot after the mishap on that day or at his house, which was barely 200 metres away.

'He ruined my life but he did not help me with a single paisa. I wonder what kind of charity he does when he does not pay the very people who are the victims of his bad deeds. His co-accused actors -- Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam - were acquitted in the 20-year-old case.

The court held that Salman was driving under the influence of alcohol and also did not have a driving license.
