Around 20 protesters have so far succumbed during the 23 days (and counting) farmers's agitation against the new farm laws at the Singhu border in New Delhi.

The farmers refuse to call off the protest unless the farm laws are repealed, a demand the Modi government is unwilling to consider.

Bharatiya Janata Party leaders hope fatigue will set in and the farmers will return to their farms in Punjab and elsewhere.

Their attention is on a more pressing matter at hand -- the coming assembly election in West Bengal which the BJP hopes to win.

Uttam Ghosh wonders if the farmers's concerns will be addressed now that the BJP has embarked on Mission Bengal.
