A 10-month-old girl died after accidentally falling into a pot of hot milk on Thursday in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, police said.
The child had been playing alone on a bed inside her house in Behramda village when her mother placed a pot of freshly boiled milk near the bed to cool, they said.
A little while later, the baby started crying loudly. Hearing her screams, the mother rushed back into the room and found the child inside the pot of hot milk. She immediately pulled the baby out and informed her husband.
The parents rushed the severely burned child to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. According to doctors, the baby, Chandni, had suffered around 80 per cent burn injuries.
SHO of Nadbai police station Arun Singh said, "The baby was playing on the bed when the mother kept the pot of hot milk nearby to cool and went to do some work. During this, the child accidentally fell into the pot."
