The National Democratic Alliance leaders on Tuesday decided to continue with their stalling tactics in Parliament till all 'tainted' ministers were dropped, Veer Savarkar's plaque restored at the Cellular Jail memorial and the Karnataka Government withdrew its move to revive the case against former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti.
A determined NDA forced adjournment of the Rajya Sabha for the day amidst noisy scenes over the issues of 'tainted' ministers and a remark on Veer Savarkar by Petroleum Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar.
When the House met after a three-hour adjournment, members belonging to BJP and Shiv Sena raked up the two issues and rushed into the well shouting slogans.
As they chanted slogans demanding removal of 'tainted' ministers from the Manmohan Singh Government, some RJD members flauted a newspaper report and tried to shout down the opposition members.
In the din, Deputy Chairman Rehman Khan asked ministers to lay copies marked against their names. As the slogan shouting continued, Khan admonished the opposition members and asked them why they had rushed into the well to register their protest.
Finding them unrelenting, he adjourned the House till tomorrow, barely three minutes after it met in the post-lunch session.
Earlier, the House was adjourned for three hours after vociferous opposition members rushed to the well during the Question Hour and demanded an apology from Aiyar for his remark on Veer Savarkar.
