British PM David Cameron, who ison a day'svisit toPakistanoffered money and security expertise as he committed Britain to helping Pakistan to tackle terror as part of a new long-term partnership.

The Times, London, reports that Cameron promised up to £650 million to get four million Pakistani children into school as part of the government's biggest overseas education programme. Britain will also share its expertise in countering roadside bombs, or improvised explosive devices, at a new centre of excellence to be jointly set up in northwest Pakistan.

The pooling of IED know-how with Pakistan's intelligence service, the ISI, amounts to a diplomatic gamble and will raise eyebrows given its well-documented links with the Taleban.
