All India Entrance Exam for MBBS/BDS

All India Entrance Examination for admission to MBBS/BDS courses, 2004 

The All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental entrance examination is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education for admission to 15% of the total seats for Medical/Dental courses in all Medical/Dental colleges run by the Union of India, State Governments, Municipal or other local authorities in India except in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.

The AIPMT 2004 will be conducted as per the following schedule.

1. Preliminary examination: April 11, 2004.

2. Final examination: May 16, 2004.

Eligibility: The candidate should be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission or complete 17 years on or before December 31, 2004. Candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as mentioned in the information brochure in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates). Candidates appearing for plus two examinations in 2004 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

Information brochure containing the application form and other details can be obtained against cash payment of Rs 300 (Rs 175 for SC/ST candidates) from the Regional offices of the Central Board of Secondary Education at the following addresses: 

1. Chennai: Plot No 1630-A, J-Block, Anna Nagar West, Chennai 600040.

2. Guwahati: Rajgarh Road, Rajgarh Tinali, Guwahati 781003.

3. Ajmer: Todar Mal Marg, Ajmer 305001.

4. Chandigarh: State Institute of Education Building, Sec-32-C, Chandigarh 160031.

5. Allahabad: 1/1, Neem Sarai, Transport Nagar, Akram Building, Allahabad 211001.

Information brochure and application form can also be obtained against cash payment of Rs 300 (Rs 150 for SC/ST candidates) including examination fee from select branches of Canara Bank across the country or by post from the Asstt. Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination Unit, Shiksha Kendra, 2 Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi 110092 by sending a MICR bank draft of Rs 350 (Rs 200 for SC/ST candidates) payable to the Secretary, CBSE, New Delhi along with a self addressed envelope of size 12cm x 10cm (without postage stamp). 

The CBSE shall not be responsible for non-despatch of Information brochure and application form if a candidate fails to enclose the self addressed envelope of appropriate size. 

Last date for request of application form by post: November 24, 2003. 

Last date for receipt of application form: December 1, 2003.
