Looking forward to Salman's cameo in Shah Rukh Khan's Zero?
Salman Khan's Race 3 may have been an above average earner, but his movies have always made loads and loads and loads of money.
The superstar is consistently delivering hits, superhits and blockbusters.
But the same can't be said about his numerous special appearances in other movies.
His cameos, in fact, don't always make a major contribution to the films' fortunes at the box office.
Of course, that doesn't mean the cameos will stop!
Khan will make such appearances in Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se, Zero and Loveratri, which will release later this year.
Joginder Tuteja takes a look at the box office records of recent films with a Salman cameo.
Welcome To New York
Box office collection: Rs 2.75 crore
The year began with Salman appearing in a cameo in Welcome To New York, starring Sonakshi Sinha, Karan Johar, Riteish Deshmukh and Diljit Dosanjh.
He had a couple of scenes and a song, all totally forgettable.
The role was supposed to be integral to the plot, as Sonakshi, playing a designer, had to put together a costume for the superstar during an IIFA appearance, but it was really not needed.
Box office collection: Rs 138 crore
David Dhawan remade his 1997 hit Judwa with his son Varun, and asked the original star -- Salman Khan -- to play a cameo.
Salman did it for David Dhawan, Producer Sajid Nadiadwala, and for the nostalgia quotient as well.
His cameo was promoted heavily, but the scene in which he featured in a double role looked very forced.
Box office collection: Rs 2 crore
Salman lent his voice for the title role of the animation film, Hanuman Da'Damdaar.
There was hardly any promotion or marketing, so, neither children nor adults were enticed into watching it.
Main Tera Hero
Box office collection: Rs 55 crore
Salman played the voice of God in Main Tera Hero.
He either reprimanded or guided Varun's character whenever the hero found himself in a mess.
It was well integrated into the narrative by Director David Dhawan, and worked well for the film.
Box office collection: Rs 4 crore
Salman did a song-n-dance appearance in O Teri for brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri.
Neither the song nor the film worked. No one remembers the Pulkit Samrat-Bilal Amrohi starrer.
Box office collection: Rs 20 crore
When Akshay Kumar produced Fugly with Director Kabir Sadanand, Salman was roped in for a song-n-dance number.
It featured both Salman and Akshay, and was projected as the film's highlight.
The song was fine, but it didn't help the film commercially.
Phata Poster Nikhla Hero
Box Office collection: Rs 36 crore
Salman's cameo in Shahid Kapoor's Phata Poster Nikhla Hero was the second time he had such an appearance in a Raj Kumar Santoshi film.
The first time, it brought in chuckles -- Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani had references to his then love story with that movie's leading lady, Katrina Kaif.
The second time around, it made little impression in Phata Poster Nikhla Hero.
Ishkq In Paris
Box office collection: Rs 2 crore
Salman featured in a dance number in Preity Zinta's Ishkq In Paris, but do you even remember it?
Son of Sardaar
Box office collection: Rs 105 crore
Son of Sardaar featured superstars Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt. Salman's cameo lent more weight to the proceedings.
He featured in a short scene at the beginning, followed by the song, Po Po, which became quite popular..
Tell Me O Kkhuda
Box office collection: Rs 1.25 crore
Salman had promised Hema Malini that he would feature in a cameo whenever she wanted him to.
For her daughter Esha Deol's comeback film Tell Me O Khhuda, Hema called on Salman to do the needful.
He arrived on the sets, did a song, but nobody remembers Someone Somebody.
