Subhash Ghai threw a lavish party at Courtyard restaurant in Andheri, a western suburb of Mumbai, on October 24, his wedding anniversary, and the day he launched his banner, Mukta Arts, named after his wife.

Quite a few Bollywood stars arrived.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who worked with Ghai in their hit film, Taal, arrived with her mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan.

Subhash Ghai started his directing career with Kalicharan in 1976. It starred Shatrughan Sinha, who before this, had mostly played negative characters. Kalicharan was a huge hit, and Ghai did two more films with him -- Sinha Vishwanath (1978) and Gautam Govinda (1979).
