Videocon to raise Rs 5,000 crore

Videocon Industries Ltd has decided to raise Rs 5,000 crore (Rs 50 billion) through the issue of equity shares or other securities.

The extraordinary general meeting held on Monday approved the proposal to raise the amount through the issue of securities in one or more tranches, with or without a green shoe option, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

A borrowing limit of Rs 20,000 crore (Rs 200 billion) was approved by the shareholders on Monday, it added.

The shares of the company were trading at Rs 390.75, down 0.09 per cent at the BSE.
