The Sensex displayed solid strength in today's trading. The index touched a high of 10,296 and finally ended with a gain of 81 points at 10,282.
The Nifty gained 17 points to close at 3,067.
Infosys rallied 3.4% to Rs 2,850. Satyam spurted 1.8% to Rs 782. While TCS moved up 1.4% to Rs 1,691, Wipro eked out gains of 0.8% at Rs 520.
Gujarat Ambuja surged 2.8% to Rs 88.50. Grasim added 1.3% to Rs 1,669, and ACC gained 0.7% at Rs 596.
HDFC Bank advanced 1.9% to Rs 725. SBI moved up 1.7% to Rs 891.
While ITC gained 1.6% to Rs 166, HLL slipped 1.6% to Rs 238.
Bharti Tele (Rs 360) and Bajaj Auto (Rs 2,564)
were the only other notable losers among the Sensex stocks.
