The Sensex closed 26 points lower at 5,687. The Nifty ended three points higher at 1,795.
Infosys slipped 1.7% (Rs 31) to Rs 1,785. Wipro dropped 1.6% (Rs 10) to Rs 650. Satyam finished 1.3% (Rs 5) lower at Rs 401.
Reliance gained Rs 3 at Rs 546. While ITC was up Rs 2 at Rs 1,119, HLL was down a rupee at Rs 127.
HPCL spurted 2.3% (Rs 7) to Rs 329. ONGC moved up 1.6% (Rs 13) to Rs 806.
HDFC plunged 3.7% (Rs 24) to Rs 630.
Bajaj Auto skidded 2.4% (Rs 24) to Rs 989. Hero Honda slipped 2% (Rs 9) to Rs 417. Tata Motors declined Rs 3 to Rs 403, and Maruti closed a rupee higher at Rs 361.
