Auto, cement help Sensex to close 16 points up

The Sensex closed with a gain of 16 points at 3,780.

ACC zoomed 6% (Rs 11) to Rs 199. Grasim added 4% (Rs 22) to Rs 523. Gujarat Ambuja and L&T also closed on a strong note.

Bajaj added nearly 4% (Rs 22) to Rs 600. Telco and Hero Honda also finished in positive zones.

Dr Reddy's was up 1.6% (Rs 18) at Rs 1,147. Cipla, Glaxo and Ranbaxy also closed with gains.

HPCL added Rs 6 to Rs 330. SBI gained Rs 7 to Rs 437. BHEL and MTNL, however, declined.

Infosys dropped Rs 25 to Rs 3,566. Satyam gained Rs 8 to Rs 206.

ITC was down 1.5% (Rs 11) at Rs 724. HLL dropped Rs 2 to Rs 168. Reliance was flat at Rs 348.
