Reliance Industries Limited toppled Oil and Natural Gas Corporation on Thursday to grab the numero uno position with a market capitalisation of over Rs 1,96,000 crore (Rs 1.96 trillion) as against ONGC's Rs 1,93,653.29 crore (Rs 1.93 trillion).
The RIL scrip gained 2.16 per cent or Rs 29.75 to close at Rs 1,406.90, while PSU major ONGC gained marginally Rs 5 to end at Rs 905.40 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Telecom major Bharti Airtel is the third most valued firm with a market cap of Rs 1,50,000 crore followed by IT majors Infosys with Rs 1,32,000 crore (Rs 1.32 trillion) and TCS at over Rs 1,26,000 crore (Rs 1.26 trillion).
Besides, another telecom firm Reliance Communications, which recently crossed the one lakh crore- (one trillion-)
The BSE benchmark Sensex gained over 300 points on Thursday or 2.47 per cent to settle at 14,355.55 points.
