Reddy's files with US FDA for generic Olanzapine

Drugmaker Dr Reddy's Laboratories has filed an application with the US Food and Drug Administration to market a generic form of Eli Lilly's schizophrenia drug Olanzapine in the United States, the Bombay Stock Exchange said on Tuesday.

It quoted a statement from the company the abbreviated new drug application for the tablets equivalent to the 5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg and 20 mg forms of the drug was filed under the Para IV certification.

This means that if successful, Dr Reddy's can enjoy a 180-day exclusivity for marketing the drug.
