MphasiS BFL Ltd on Friday announced the commencement of its fourth BPO facility in the country in Mangalore at an initial investment of about Rs 70 crore (Rs 700 million).
The MphasiS Mangalore facility will provide contact centre services for several Fortune 500 companies.
The total employee strength at this facility is expected to reach 3,000 in the initial stage of operations and will witness significant growth over the next few years.
According to a release this is the company's fourth facility In India, in addition to the two existing facilities in Bangalore and one each in Pune and Tijuana in Mexico.
The company's BPO business recorded revenues of Rs 74.48 crore (Rs 744.8 million) for the quarter ended December 31, 2004 as against Rs 48.32 crore (Rs 483.2 million) in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, representing a consistent growth rate and demonstrating an increasing share of the BPO business, in the company's overall revenues.
Speaking at the official inauguration of the facility, Jerry Rao, Chairman & CEO, of the company said, "Today is a very significant time in the history of MphasiS. When we first commenced operations in India, our goal was to strive to be the best in our field. Since then there has been no looking back and MphasiS has grown from strength to strength."
