New Jersey-based Torry Harris Business Solutions, a leading provider of services in the middleware technology space, on Wednesday said it is planning to hire 250 professionals in India by the third quarter of the calendar year 2006 to scale up its operations in the country.

The 750-employee, privately held company has development centres here and at Shenzhen in China and sales and operations offices in Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions.

THBS also announced that the company, spurred by continued growth of sales this year, planned to undertake new technology initiatives in the areas of SOA (service oriented architecture) and OSS (open source software) shortly.

"The new initiatives are a part of the company's commitment to provide its customers with alternatives to costly and rigid implementation by combining the strengths of SOA and OSS," THBS' chief operating officer Ashwin Krishna said.

Krishna said at the end of the current year, THBS would centralise operations by relocating its four existing offices to a centrally located premise where it will have the capacity to further expand business.

THBS said it provides IT services aimed at creating and maintaining mission-critical IT systems to industries like telecommunications, BFSI, e-governance and healthcare.
